Stage 3 Learning Period

The goal for this period is to allow each participant and their learning partner to find the right resources to learn, support each other and experiment.

This is self-organized time, and the participant and their learning partners own the learning process. Besides checking in with each participant, the exercise facilitator has little to nothing to do.

This period can last anything from three to nine months. However, I found four months is a sweet spot.

๐Ÿ“ Author tips

  1. Be curious about what is happening in the group. Do learning partners meet regularly? Are new connections being built? Do you observe complicity between participants, especially if they are learning partners that have not been before?

  2. Checkin โ€œsoftlyโ€ with the participants. The questions should enable you to observe, not to challenge or control. Each person will dedicate as much time as they need and want to this exercise, and that should be respected.

  3. I discovered that some study buddies ended up having common documents to keep track of ideas, brainstorm together and have a joint learning roadmap. My team preferred to use MIRO, a digital whiteboard tool.
